Mayor Jones Announces City’s Summer Youth Camp Program
Crowley, LA – Today, Mayor Greg Jones announced the City of Crowley’s 2008 Summer Youth Camp for students ages 7-14 will begin June 9th and run through July 11th.
Registration forms are available at all Crowley schools as well as Crowley City Hall, Korky’s Super Market, P.J.’s, Superfoods, P&L Grocery, the City of Crowley Public Housing Authority, C&G Grocery, Shop Rites, local churches, and City’s recreation centers and on-line. All registration forms are to be returned to Crowley City Hall by June 2, 2008. There is a fee of $10.
The Summer Youth Camp is a five week structured camp for children between the ages of 7 and 14 that will encompass a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including an interactive motivational show, field trip, and a maori dance theatre sponsored by the Acadiana Arts Council, Reading Program sponsored by the Acadia Parish Library, a Health fair, fine arts and crafts lessons sponsored by Acadiana Arts Council, music appreciation, and other developmental events. The program will be held at both the Martin Luther King Center and the Rice Festival Building with instructions and activities conducted according to age groups.
